About us

We’re Alva and Antoine, two bioprocessing specialists with deep experience in scale-up, optimisation, and industrial fermentation. We share a passion for using biotechnology to create sustainable products and ingredients that help build a better future for everyone.

Over the past eight years, we’ve worked together to scale a gas fermentation process producing single-cell protein (SCP) from natural gas feedstock in what became the world’s largest gas-fed fermenters (450 m³). That work was conducted on site in Chongqing, China.

Our roles spanned the full spectrum of development and implementation, including:

  • Managing R&D programmes to de-risk scale-up (UK, US)

  • Designing and commissioning large-scale fermenters

  • Overseeing fermentation operations and production strategies

  • Performing COGs and CAPEX analyses

  • Implementing remote-access data systems and analytical tools

We believe that fermentation technologies, both natural and precision, are still in the early stages of adoption, and that technical implementation remains the biggest barrier to progress.
